Cats like to hide and then jump out. This gives them somewhere to do it.
A 92 by 22 cm sheet of 5 mm felt with holes cut along it and pom-poms on the edge. Clip the ends together to make a tunnel, or unroll it and use it as a mat.
Felt is quieter than the crinkly nylon tunnels, which helps in a flat with thin walls. It folds flat for storage and can be brushed clean.
How it works
- 1Clip it into a loop
Join the two ends. The pom-poms stay on the outside for batting.
- 2Play through the holes
Move a wand past the holes and let your cat grab at it through the felt.
- 3Fold it away
Unclip and roll it up. Brush off hair; the supplier does not list a machine wash.

Will a big cat fit inside?
Clipped up, the tunnel is roughly 7 to 10 cm across by our reckoning from the flat width, so it suits kittens and small cats. Larger cats usually use it as a mat and pounce through the holes.
