Sound familiar?

You are not the only one.

She starts shouting at 5am and wakes the whole house, children included.
Everyone says ignore it. That is hard when the kids are asleep next door.
I love him to bits, but I have not had a full night's sleep in years.
He knows that if he gets me out of bed, something good happens.

What UK cat owners say online (paraphrased from public forum threads)

Why it happens

Three things going on.

1

Cats hunt at dawn

Cats are naturally most active around dawn and dusk. A flat has no mice, so the energy goes into your hallway.

2

A hunt that never finishes

In the wild a cat hunts, catches, eats and sleeps. Indoors, many cats never get the first two, and the day ends with energy to burn.

3

It works, so they repeat it

If a loud meow or a pounce has ever led to breakfast, a cuddle or even a cross word, the cat learns that 5am pays.

The 60-second Zoomie check

The plan in short

Three steps.

  1. Play like preyTen minutes of wand play an hour before bed. Let them catch it at the end.
  2. Feed after the huntA small meal or a feeder game straight after, then calm time.
  3. Stay boring at 5amNo breakfast on demand, no cuddles, no shouting. Be consistent for two weeks.

Straight talk

We are new, so we have no reviews yet.

We will not invent any. Here is what we do instead:

  • The first-week plan on this page is free, so you can judge us before you spend a penny.
  • The 30-day promise means you can ask for a refund or swap if your cat ignores it.
  • The first 50 customers who send a real photo or video of their cat with the kit get a free extra toy. We ask permission before we use anything.

Questions

Before you decide.

My cat ignores new toys after a day. Why would this be different?

Often it is the movement, not the toy. The plan shows how to move a wand like prey and how to rotate toys, and the box and e-book help you do that. If your cat still ignores it after 30 days, our promise applies.

When does it ship?

Orders ship within 5 working days, with tracking. Your illustrated e-book arrives by email as soon as you order, so you can start the routine the same day.

Is this a subscription?

No. The starter kit is a one-off purchase. Nothing renews. Things that really run out, like scratch refills, are in the Refill Club.

What is the Cat-approved promise?

If your cat ignores your kit or box after 30 days, we refund it or swap it for a different problem box. You keep the toys.

Are the toys safe?

Each item has a safety note on this page. String and feathers should be used with you watching and put away afterwards. If you ever see loose parts, stop using the toy.

Who are you?

Mewnook is a small online cat shop serving UK owners. Company details and our contact email are in the footer. We are new and have no reviews yet, which is why the 30-day promise exists: it takes the risk off you.

Start with the free plan.

Takes a minute, costs nothing, and you will know more about your cat by tonight.
